29 January 2019 - Press Release

Florence Lambert, Director of CEA Liten, is Conference General Chair of EU PVSEC 2019, the 36th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition

  • EU PVSEC 2019 continues its focus on R&D and applied as well as markets and policy-oriented topics
  • Abstracts for conference contributions to be submitted until 08 February 2019

Munich, 29 January 2019 – The coming EU PVSEC will be held from 09 to 13 September 2019 in Marseille, France, and will be chaired by Florence Lambert. Florence Lambert studied the aging in lead batteries used for photovoltaic systems and made her PhD thesis at Grenoble INP. She is Director of CEA Liten (the Laboratory for Innovation in new Energy Technologies and Nanomaterials) covering a large field of developments as solar photovoltaic, solar concentrator, energy storage, energy grids, digital technology for energy systems, located at CEA Grenoble and INES, France’s solar energy research institute.

Florence Lambert is appointed as EU PVSEC 2019 Conference General Chair following nomination and voting process by the EU PVSEC ISAC - International Scientific Advisory Committee.

Florence Lambert about the role of photovoltaics (PV): ”The transition to a sustainable energy future will not be possible without a carbon-free energy sector dominated by renewables. As a major contributor to a cleaner and safer future for the planet, PV technologies will play a key role in transforming our energy systems while enabling a massive shift to carbon-free energy. As costs have come down, renewable energy is being rolled out at record levels. However, because emissions levels are still far from reaching the targets set in the Paris Agreement, there is still much progress to be made to get renewables into the energy mix at an even faster pace.”

EU PVSEC 2019 continues its focus on R&D and applied as well as markets and policy-oriented topics
The EU PVSEC invites the international PV specialists to submit their abstracts and be part at the EU PVSEC Conference by presenting the latest results to experts and decision-makers from around the globe.
The Conference Programme will be organized according to the following main topics, based on the experience of the previous successful EU PVSEC conferences:
• New Materials and Concepts for Photovoltaic Devices
• Silicon Materials and Cell
• Perovskites, other Non- Silicon-Based Photovoltaics, and Multi-Junction Devises
• Photovoltaics Modules and Bos Components
• PV Systems and Storage – Modelling, Design, Operation and Performance
• PV Applications and Integration
• Finance, Markets and Policies

Call for papers still open
Submit your abstract by 8 February 2019 and become part of the EU PVSEC Conference programme. The international Conference programme will be structured in plenary, oral and visual presentations and cover the entire range of PV research, technologies and applications, focusing on the latest scientific, technological and market-related trends.

The EU PVSEC is coordinated by the European Commission Joint Research Centre.

EU PVSEC Background
EU PVSEC is the most important international conference for the photovoltaics sector. For more than 30 years, it has been serving as the annual meeting point for PV experts from research, development and the industry.
Technological innovations, the latest findings in research, the strategic and economical as well as political framework conditions – the future of photovoltaics will be shaped by a unique alliance between research, industry, and politics. The quality of this event’s program is unrivalled – a fact which is ensured every single year by the Scientific Committee comprising over 200 international photovoltaics experts. Almost 1,000 conference presentations and 110 presentations in parallel events had been featured in 2018.
