Solar has the green light to power the energy transition
“You have the green light.” With this positive message for the PV industry Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy, has opened the 38th European PV Solar Energy Conference. In her keynote speech Commissioner Simson emphasised that the Commission is “ready to speed up, scale up and invest in solar PV”. On the road to net zero 2050, the PV industry will play a key role in driving to fulfil the ambitious climate targets of the Commission. Simson underlined that the EU is working on creating the right political framework conditions as well as on investment perspectives.

The 38th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition will open its virtual doors for the second time in a row from 6 to 10 September 2021. After hoping to hold the prestigious event in Lisbon as planned, the organisers have now decided to follow the successful concept of 2020 and run the event completely virtual again.

Ready for take off: The first online edition of EU PVSEC will start on Monday

The 37th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition will start on Monday with the Opening Session, streamed live and free of charge via the EU PVSEC YouTube channel. The scientists will kick off with presentations on perovskite photovoltaics, intermediate band solar cells and high-performance organic photovoltaics. Afterwards, Professor of Physics Henry J. Snaith from the University of Oxford will be awarded with the Becquerel Prize for his ground-breaking work on solar cells based on organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites.

The three plenary events of the 37th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition will provide current insights on PV technologies and applications and the role of PV in the future energy system. To attract scientists and industry representatives from the whole PV sector, the organizers have grouped overview presentations and striking news of the top experts in three morning sessions, rather than reflecting each conference topic in its own plenary session.

A high-class digital experience for the global PV community: EU PVSEC goes online

The 37th edition of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) sets new standards for online-events in the global PV sector. Around 1,000 plenary, oral and visual presentations will be streamed via live feed through the platform. Two chairpersons will moderate the sessions, while the audience can interact via face to face tools and Q&A chats. Up to 30 exhibitors will display their new products and technological highlights in virtual showrooms. An additional streaming room will be dedicated to Industry presentations and discussions. Even the poster presenters can communicate face to face and with a live Q&A chat.

EU PVSEC 2020 goes online

Munich, 20 May 2020 – The 37th edition of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) goes online and will open its virtual doors from Monday 7 to Friday 11 September 2020.

The EU PVSEC is a must-attend event for PV experts and has been for decades. It attracts the global PV community to conduct business, to network and to present and discuss the latest developments and innovations in Photovoltaics. It is the world-renowned science-to-science, and science-to-industry platform with a full and exclusive focus on the global PV Solar sector.
