This year the EU PVSEC will take place online

General description of the EU PVSEC 2020 online

The EU PVSEC 2020 will be a full online event maintaining all the basic features that a physical event is recognisable for: Live presentations in all cases (Plenary, Oral and Visual) and the possibility of live interaction between presenters and audience (questions, debate) via face to face tools and Q&A chat.

As the organizer of the EU PVSEC, it is an important issue for us to preserve our high-quality standards and to create an interesting, vivid online platform for the international PV community. That is why the EU PVSEC is taking news steps ahead and offers innovative solutions for this complicated year of 2020, to offer the most similar experience to an on-site event in the PV sector. The event will take place in CEST, UTC/GMT +2 hours, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Munich time.

On top of the unique live features, all presentations will be available for streaming on demand to all participants for one full month after the conference.

The platform to access the event is directly accessible from the user area of the EU PVSEC and depending on your roles (regular attendee, presenter or chairperson) the provided links are allowing you to enter into the different virtual rooms with individual functions.

Conference:
The Conference section guides you to the full programme by day including a search section. Includes interactive features similar to our EU PVSEC programme planner and links to plenary/oral and visual presentations.

After choosing a presentation or session, participants are directed to an auditorium or to a poster sub-page.

  • Plenary and Oral presentations:
    The plenary and oral presentations will be streamed via live feed through the platform. For a speaker, the experience is similar to a video conferencing tool like teams, zoom or GoToMeeting. Presenters are visible to the audience and can share their screen to perform their presentation. A technician is permanently monitoring the virtual rooms, giving support and briefing all speakers 15 minutes before the start of each session. 2 Chairpersons are as well in the session introducing and moderating questions and answers. The audience can use the live Q&A chat to ask their questions to presenters.
    *For those speakers with critical time zone issues, there is the possibility to pre-record their presentations.   • Visual presentations:
    Same as all other sessions, Visuals are performed live. Each visual presentation has a sub-page assigned with a 2 way video chat so interaction between speakers and audience is guaranteed (speakers and audience can see and talk to each other live). Poster presentations will be on display on the virtual poster wall throughout the week. Each author can upload a brief introduction video of their topic which is visible throughout the conference.  Via the live video chat, the presenter can present his/her poster during the session (just as in an on-site event) and audience can ask live questions, debate and discuss with no limit of participants. Uploaded posters (pdf.) are zoomable and a technician is assigned permanently to visual sessions to make sure all runs smoothly.

Parallel events:
Parallel events, same as plenary and oral sessions, will be streamed via live feed through the platform and will have the same features. Presenters are visible to the audience and can share their screen to perform their presentation. The audience can ask live questions, debate and discuss with no limit of participants.

Exhibition:
Each of the exhibitors will have on showroom assigned with the following features:

  • Customized header / Upload via Exhibitor
  • Customized logo / / Upload via Exhibitor
  • Full text with Exhibitor’s profile
  • Chat/question box for live interaction between exhibitors and attendees.
  • 2 way video chat so interaction between exhibitors and attendees is guaranteed (they can see and talk to each other live).
  • Possibility to upload a corporate video
  • Display of Exhibitor´s Social Media channels
  • Display of Exhibitor contact details
