Two weeks until the event

Dear member of the PV community,

Only two weeks to go until the EU PVSEC 2020 opens its virtual doors!

Are you as excited as we are? Great! Because we have some new insights to share with you!

Introductory words from Conference General Chair Prof. Nicola Pearsall

Having spent all my research career working in photovoltaics, the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (EU PVSEC) has been a fixture in my diary since my days as a young post-doctoral researcher.

Whilst I already had an interest in solar energy when I started my PhD, I didn’t realise that it would be sustained across the whole of my research career. I have worked in lots of areas of PV research, from making the cells to monitoring and analysing PV systems and investigating the environmental impact of making and using PV devices.

There are two particular aspects of the EU PVSEC that I look forward to each year. Firstly, the range of topics covered during the week allows me to keep up with the current advances in a variety of areas. Secondly, it is an opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues and make new contacts for the future. I encourage everyone to take this opportunity to explore some topics outside their normal research area – it may help you identify future challenges and interests for your research.

Webinars and Technical Checks

We are very happy to announce that our webinars last week were a big success. A remarkable number of speakers and chairpersons joined in to get prepared for their session. The videos of both webinars and all Q&As are now available in the Author’s Workstation.

As mentioned before, we offer private technical checks where you can test the Streamyard broadcasting platform yourself, guided by an operator.

These checks will take place form:

24 August - 28 August

31 August - 04 September

If you are a speaker or chairperson of a session, please book your personal timeslot as soon as possible.

You can find the link in the e-mail for designated speakers and chairpersons. If you haven’t received an e-mail, please contact [email protected].

We strongly recommend to use this opportunity and participate in the technical checks, in order to prevent technical issues on the day of your session.
