Photovoltaic and Beyond

The 2019 European Photovoltaic Conference and Exhibition features a number of programme enhancements compared to previous years. This we owe to the remarkable development of PV Science and engineering. The deployment of PV surpassed the 100 GW per year mark, which means that in each second 750 solar cells are produced, and every single day somewhere in the world 250 MW of modules are installed.

By far the majority of modules belongs to systems connected to existing electricity grid. As a consequence, the increased share of PV in the supply of electricity of many countries, it becomes essential for further increase of PV deployment to store electricity. The EU PVSEC has introduced a new topic particularly for “Storage” and encourages scientists, engineers and system designers to submit abstracts to this conference.

As PV power enters into cost competition with conventional electricity generation, the application side of the PV technology becomes increasingly wide, and applications which have been not economically viable are becoming mainstream. The new Topic “Professional Applications of PV” expects to presentations of cost-competitive and new applications now become economically viable and reach out into services, including in the renewable heat sector.

Photovoltaics, which can be applied in any system size becomes now the winning solution when being part of an energy systems thinking, as for instance for Buildings or for integrated Heat Pump or Biomass systems. The conference wants to address these trends, notably in new topics like “PV Driven Energy Management and System Integration”.

The EU PVSEC looks forward to provide the forum for these new trends and developments, driven by PV.

3 days left: EU PVSEC abstracts deadline on 8 February 2019

The world’s leading PV technology conference, EU PVSEC, gathers the global PV community to conduct business, to network and to present and discuss the latest developments and innovations in Photovoltaics. Be part of that group and submit your abstract by 8 February 2019.

EU PVSEC is also hosting an industry and research exhibition, where institutes, universities and solar companies will display the latest in processing materials, new ideas and production equipment technology.
