PV POWER for all

The European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference continues to be the leading event for the global PV community to meet and share ideas. Furthermore, with the 35th edition being in Brussels - political centre of the EU - it is an opportunity to emphasize the many ways that PV is central to the success of many crucial policy areas, including energy, decarbonisation and climate change, industry, and international sustainable development.

As always, the conference will continue showcase the most recent scientific advances in concepts (Topic 1), cells (Topics 2 and 3), modules (topic 5) and systems (Topic 6). Furthermore, we invite contributions from workers in the field of energy system integration and storage that demonstrate how PV penetration can massively increase while maintaining stability and security of supply (Topics 6 and 7). As well as transforming existing energy networks, PV has enormous potential to help the world meet its sustainable development goals for emerging regions - work describing practical examples and future roadmaps are also highly welcome (Topic 7). As Oscar Wilde might have said, let’s show that we have not only our genius to declare, but also our passion to transform the world!

The scientific committee, nearly two hundred strong, is composed of recognised experts from the whole PV community, and takes its responsibility to build an interesting and relevant technical programme of oral and visual sessions very seriously. I assure you that we look forward to receiving your abstracts with as much enthusiasm as you have to share your work with the largest gathering of your peers - an opportunity unique to the EU PVSEC!

In closing, I invite all authors to carefully read the topic descriptions and select the one which most closely matches the key novelty of their work. The subtopic descriptions are brief, while at the same time self-explanatory, so that locating the area of interest is straightforward. I warmly invite you to submit your abstracts and to come and join us in Brussels in September.

Call for Papers 2018 is open!

Be part of the cutting edge of research and innovation for photovoltaics, their application and integration. Strengthen your network with the PV research community, industry, investors in innovations and policy makers.

Contributions are welcome on all aspects of photovoltaics.

The Conference will be structured along the following main topics:

Apply for Student Awards 2018

To encourage high-quality work amongst young researchers, the EU PVSEC Students Awards will be presented in recognition of the most remarkable and outstanding research work in the field of Photovoltaics.

Received applications for the EU PVSEC Student awards will be reviewed and scored by the International Scientific Committee, made up of leading research and industry experts from the Global PV Community.

Conference Proceedings

EU PVSEC Conference Proceedings have been published since 1992 and have a high reputation in the sector. All submitted papers of plenary, oral and visual presentations will be subject to an editorial review process and published on-line on the EU PVSEC Proceedings website. The proceedings are indexed by INSPEC.

With the EU PVSEC 2017 all EU PVSEC Proceedings move to a full free access policy and are searchable online (and citable online) as soon as published. This underlines our commitment to prioritising quick and open access to high quality scientific results. and allows the entire PV community to easily access this comprehensive database for PV research and technology, renowned for the high standard of its scientific contributions.

Citability of Papers

Papers in the conference proceedings are coded by a digital identifier (DOI code) provided by the German National Library of Science and Technology. This guarantees an unequivocal and permanent identification and citability.

Scientific Journal Publication of selected papers

Each year, the Scientific Committee selects a limited number of the most promising abstracts from each Conference Subject that will be invited to be peer reviewed for potential publication by a high impact journal. This publication will be in addition to the publication in the Conference Proceedings of the 35th EU PVSEC 2018.

If you would like your abstract to be considered for inclusion in the Journal Publication/Peer Review Process please tick the corresponding box in the User Area during submission. Please note that if selected, a full paper will need to be supplied well in advance of the conference.

Season's Greetings

Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!
