These are dynamic times for PV

Dear Colleagues,

These are dynamic times for PV. Behind the daily news on commercial developments around the globe, there's great R&D going-on (check out #EUPVSEC on Twitter feed for some of the latest on this).

EU PVSEC 2017 will be capturing the latest developments and you can be part of this by submitting an abstract for the 10 February deadline.

We're looking forward to exciting new results on the main technology strands of silicon wafer-based PV and thin films, but also on innovative ideas and concepts for materials and production process that will influence long-term developments. Improved understanding of reliability and performance issues for modules and for systems are critical to confidence in the sector. Last but not least, the very success of PV obliges us to think about how we can develop viable future electricity systems, to deliver the clean energy transition the planet needs.

Looking forward to your abstract.

Nigel Taylor, EU PVSEC Technical Programme Chair

European Commission Joint Research Centre

Hint: for your abstract, remember you'll get off to a good start with the Programme Committee by providing short sections on:

  • Aim and approach used
  • Scientific innovation and relevance
  • Results (or preliminary) results and conclusions
