Amsterdam hosts the 33rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, from 25 to 29 September 2017

The next European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC 2017), the leading international Conference in photovoltaics, will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 25 - 29 September 2017.

EU PVSEC maintains European mobility. In order to meet its long-term European aspect and character, EU PVSEC sticks to its tradition and mission and returns to the annual autumn timeslot at different European locations.

Welcome from the host country

The Netherlands is very pleased to host the EU PVSEC 2017 and welcomes you to the beautiful city of Amsterdam!

Solar energy is considered a key technology for a sustainable energy future, also in our small and windy country. Integration of PV into buildings, infrastructure and landscape offers great opportunities to achieve impact and even offshore combinations with wind energy, biomass, and energy storage may be possible. Large-scale generation of sustainable electricity can be used not only to cover electricity demand, but also for heating purposes and perhaps even for fuels and products. This conviction is clearly translated into our innovation and deployment policies. PV is an important topic in the ambitious innovation program of the TKI Urban Energy; the national public-private partnership for energy innovations in the urban environment in broad sense.

Large-scale PV deployment is stimulated by several financial incentives for small and large systems and the PV market has grown accordingly. In short: PV is here to stay and flourish.

The Netherlands has a global perspective on societal and environmental challenges, on business opportunities, and on culture. Therefore we look forward to the exchange of exciting developments in PV science, technology and applications and all related topics, between stakeholders from all over the world. Let’s learn from each other and inspire each other. We hope to see you here from 25 to 29 September 2017!

Interviews with leading scientists and stake holders at EU PVSEC 2016

On the occasion of the EU PVSEC 2016, news platform SolarPV.tv has interviewed leading actors of the solar sector. In this edition, we include interviews with world leading researchers from universities and industry.

Martin Green, Professor at the University of New South Wales, is not only the world’s most famous solar cell scientist, he also regularly holds a keynote at EU PVSEC. In the interview, Prof. Green shares his views on technology and market development.

Pierre Verlinden, Vice-President, Chief Scientist and State Key Laboratory Vice-Chair at Trina Solar and Adjunct Professor at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China, talks about high efficiency cells and other topics the world’s largest module maker from China is working on.

Vasilis Fthenakis, Founder & Director of Center for Life Cycle Analysis (CLCA) at Columbia University, Leader of the National PV Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Research Center at Brookhaven National Lab (BNL), talks about his research work on recycling, LCA or PV-based water desalination.

EU PVSEC Exhibition in final preparation

EU PVSEC 2017 is accompanied by the EU PVSEC Exhibition, which starts on Monday noon, 25 September 2017 and ends on 28 September 2017 early afternoon.

The Exhibition extends from basic PV systems and components to upstream technologies, innovations and new concepts. Conference and Exhibition are located shoulder to shoulder. A perfect contact between researcher and producer is guaranteed. The message of the Exhibition reads: From industry and prime stakeholder organisations to PV research and development. And vice-versa.

A range of stand options is offered.

All details of the Exhibition show will be published in September 2016.
