Munich, 14 July 2010 – WIP, organiser of the 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition / 5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (25th EU PVSEC / WCPEC-5), taking place in Valencia, Spain, from 6-10 September 2010 (Conference 6-10 September 2010 - Exhibition 6-9 September 2010), announces that this year’s PV Industry Exhibition will spread over 8 large exhibition halls at the Feria Valencia fairground, covering an exhibition area of 80,000 sqm.
Following the continuing requests, the exhibition area has been further extended to 80,000 sqm, compared to 65,000 sqm in Hamburg last year, to accommodate more than 950 exhibitors from around the world.
Manufacturers and Suppliers of PV Production Equipment and Materials account for 40%, Manufacturers of Cells and Modules for 37% of total exhibition space and represent the two largest PV industry sectors at this 25th EU PVSEC / WCPEC-5.
To facilitate orientation at the 25th EU PVSEC / WCPEC-5, exhibitors from related business fields are grouped in the same halls. Visitors will easily find their way across the Exhibition to compare the products and services on show in a compact setting. The grouping categories for the Exhibition are:
• Manufacturers and Suppliers of PV Production Equipment and Materials • PV Products: Ingots/Wafers/Cells, Silicon/Thin-Film/Concentrator Modules • Manufacturers of Mounting Systems, Tracking Systems, Inverters, Batteries, Cabling and Connecting Systems • Distributors/Integrators/Assemblers of PV Systems • Project Developers, Consultants, Media, Research Institutes, Governmental Institutions etc.
The PV Solar Industry Exhibition of the 25th EU PVSEC / WCPEC-5 is expected to attract around 40,000 visitors. A further 4,500 delegates will attend the global PV Specialist Conference, who will make the 20,000 sqm conference area vibrant with the buzz of future trends in photovoltaics.
The WCPEC-5 brings together the three most important global scientific and strategic PV Conferences: the 25th EU PVSEC, the 36th US IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference and the 20th Asia/Pacific PV Science and Engineering Conference. Together with the EU PVSEC’s PV Industry Exhibition, this unique PV solar gathering constitutes the world’s leading science-to-science, business-to-business and science-to-industry forum for the global PV Solar sector.
Background: For many years now, the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) has combined a respected international scientific conference with a renowned PV Industry Exhibition and trade fair. During 5 days of conference and 4 days of trade fair, new products and technical innovations from all areas of photovoltaics and from all over the world are on show.
This global PV solar event is supported by European and international organisations such as the European Commission, UNESCO - United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation - Natural Sciences Sector, WCRE - World Council for Renewable Energy, the International Photovoltaic Equipment Association (IPVEA) and by a close institutional cooperation with the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA). The Technical Programme is coordinated by the European Commission, DG Joint Research Centre.
