3. HOW IS MY ABSTRACT EVALUATED?

     1. Abstract Review Process and Notification of Authors

The international Scientific Committee, made up of around 190 leading experts from the global PV community, will review all abstracts that have been submitted on time and in the correct format, and suggest contributions for oral or for visual/poster presentation.

The main selection criteria are:

  Content
• in line with the selected subtopic
• relevance for other groups active in PV
• clearly understandable and direct to the point
  Innovation
advancement in terms of progress and novelty
  Quality
scientific quality as well as the probability of a good presentation at the conference

If positively evaluated by the Scientific Committee, the abstract will be selected for Plenary, Oral or Visual/poster presentation. Plenaries and Oral presentations are reserved for contributions covering a wider scope which are of interest to a broader audience and address the progress and novelties within the topic. Visual/poster presentations are mostly dedicated to issues of interest for specialists in a particular field.

Corresponding authors will be notified of the outcome of their abstract’s evaluation by email by beginning of May 2018.

PV POWER for all

RobertKenny GDM5370The European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference continues to be the leading event for the global PV community to meet and share ideas. Furthermore, with the 35th edition being in Brussels - political centre of the EU - it is an opportunity to emphasize the many ways that PV is central to the success of many crucial policy areas, including energy, decarbonisation and climate change, industry, and international sustainable development.

As always, the conference will continue showcase the most recent scientific advances in concepts (Topic 1), cells (Topics 2 and 3), modules (topic 5) and systems (Topic 6). Furthermore, we invite contributions from workers in the field of energy system integration and storage that demonstrate how PV penetration can massively increase while maintaining stability and security of supply (Topics 6 and 7). As well as transforming existing energy networks, PV has enormous potential to help the world meet its sustainable development goals for emerging regions - work describing practical examples and future roadmaps are also highly welcome (Topic 7). As Oscar Wilde might have said, let’s show that we have not only our genius to declare, but also our passion to transform the world!

The scientific committee, nearly two hundred strong, is composed of recognised experts from the whole PV community, and takes its responsibility to build an interesting and relevant technical programme of oral and visual sessions very seriously. I assure you that we look forward to receiving your abstracts with as much enthusiasm as you have to share your work with the largest gathering of your peers - an opportunity unique to the EU PVSEC!

In closing, I invite all authors to carefully read the topic descriptions and select the one which most closely matches the key novelty of their work. The subtopic descriptions are brief, while at the same time self-explanatory, so that locating the area of interest is straightforward. I warmly invite you to submit your abstracts and to come and join us in Brussels in September.
