30 years of European PV Solar Conferences - the success story

 

The success story of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition series starts in 1977. These events grew to become the World’s largest specialist Conference in the Photovoltaic Solar Energy sector.

 

The PV Conference & Exhibition (EU PVSEC) is a truly global event which uniquely combines scientific and technological issues. The EU PVSEC brings together research and development experts, industry, utilities, political actors, architects and end-users. The international collaboration, which the EU PVSEC facilitates, is essential in fostering a sustainable future for PV technology in the global energy system.

 

The 22nd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition held in Milan in September 2007 was a further milestone for the PV-sector and ended with a record-breaking number of visitors.

 

The 3,000 scientists, industry representatives and politicians from 83 countries and around 12,000 specialist visitors to the parallel trade exhibition informed themselves on the latest developments in solar energy generation. The EU PVSEC has positioned itself as a platform for exchange between research and industrial application. The high number of participants and specialist visitors from all over the world shows how far this transfer has expanded.

 

The exhibition with around 520 exhibitors in a show space of 30,000 sqm, is the world's biggest photovoltaics exhibition. The exhibitors came from all corners of the PV Solar sector: Manufacturers of Ingots and Wafers, Solar Cells, PV Modules, Concentrators and Trackers, Manufacturers and Suppliers of Equipment, Distributors, Integrators, Assemblers, Manufacturers of Inverters as well as Engineers and Service Providers.
