WIP aims to keep the Site available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week and to maintain saved information. Governing Law and Venue
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflicts of law principles. You hereby submit to and agree that the sole jurisdiction and venue for any actions that may arise under or in relation to the subject matter hereof shall be the courts located in Germany.
WIP may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, you agree to cease all use of this Site. Without limiting the foregoing, WIP shall have the right to immediately terminate your access and use of the Site, or any portion of the Site, in the event of any conduct by you or through your account which WIP, in its sole discretion, considers to be unacceptable, or in the event of any breach by you of the Terms and Conditions.
If the opportunity for the input of personal or business data (email addresses, name, addresses) is given, the input of these data takes place voluntarily. The use and payment of all offered services are permitted - if and so far technically possible and reasonable - without specification of any personal data or under specification of anonymized data or an alias. The use of published postal addresses, telephone or fax numbers and email addresses for marketing purposes is prohibited, offenders sending unwanted spam messages will be punished.
Credit Card Transactions
Registered users on this Site (see User Area) are able to register for the EU PVSEC Conferences and to pay their registration fee with credit card. All prices are quoted in Euro (€) and include the VAT. Visa and Mastercard credit cards are accepted.
For your protection, we have taken a number of steps to maximize the security of financial transactions that are accepted on the EU PVSEC Web Site. Credit Card processing is accomplished using secure processing services. Your data is transmitted using the SSL standards which continuously encrypt data between your computer and our web server.
Regardless of the precautions taken by you or by WIP, ‘perfect security’ does not exist on the internet. WIP cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to this site or WIP, and you transmit such information at your own risk.
Collection and Registration of Personal Information
We sometimes request users of the Site to provide personal information. The information collected from a user is strictly voluntary and may include contact information such as the user's name, e-mail address, and postal address.
In order to access certain content and to make use of the full functionality and advanced personalisation features of the Site, we ask you to register and obtain a personal User Name and Password. You may be prompted to register when you:

- Use personalisation features (such as Online Conference Registration and Online Abstract Submission)
The information collected from the form that is presented to users when they choose to create a personal account may include contact information such as the user's name, e-mail address, invoice address, work setting, profession, principal professional field and country ("Personal Information"). The Personal Information is linked directly to a personal User Name and Password chosen by the user and can only be retrieved by supplying the correct User Name and Password that is linked to that profile.
How personal information is used
We use the personal information that you provide for such purposes as:
Completion and support of the activity for which the information was provided, such as allowing access to or delivery of our services, processing or fulfilling an order, or responding to your requests or inquiries;
Website and system administration, such as for the technical support of the Site and its computer system, including processing computer account information, information used in the course of securing and maintaining the Site, and verification of Site activity by the Site or its agents;
Tailoring or customizing content or design of the Site during a single visit to the Site and individualized personalization of the Site on repeat visits;
Research and development to enhance, evaluate and improve the Site and our services;
Pseudonymous analysis to create a profile used to determine the habits, interests or other characteristics of users for purposes of research, analysis and anonymous reporting; and Communicating with you about changes or updates to the Site and our services and, with your consent, newsletters about the EU PVSEC Events.
Access and Changes to Your Registration Information and Preferences
Registered users may access their identified contact information and other Personal Information and correct any discrepancies or update information by clicking on the button “request change” to send the changes via e-mail to WIP at any time. The accuracy of such information is solely the responsibility of the user. No access is given to other data that may have been collected about users.
Retention of Personal Information
We retain the personal information we collect from you for as long as the information is relevant to our purposes or until you request that we remove the data by contacting us.
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States .
In case IP-anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will be truncated within the area of Member States of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases the whole IP address will be first transfered to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP-anonymisation is active on this website.
Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing them other services relating to website activity and internet usage.
Use of "Cookies"
Cookies are implemented in various parts of the Site. It is the policy of WIP that Cookies do not carry any of your personal information (name, email address, credit card, etc.) nor identification/password-type data that allows access to such personal information on WIP servers. All personal, transaction and security rights are housed on secure WIP servers, and follow the policy described in the "Collection and Registration of Personal Information” and “How personal information is used”.
Our Commitment to Data Security
We recognize that your privacy is important to you, and therefore we endeavor to keep your personal information confidential. The personal and demographic information about each user is stored on servers that are behind a firewall and physically housed within a secured data center. Furthermore, our internal practices help protect your privacy by limiting employee access to and use of such information. WIP cooperates with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties, to enforce laws. We can (and you authorize us to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose us, service or content providers we work with, or you to possible legal liability.
